How to Clean and Care for a Silicone Vibrator
How to clean silicone properly, which lubricants are safe, how to swap sleeves, and how to store and charge the device so it lasts.
A silicone vibrator is cleaned with warm water and a mild, unscented soap before and after every use, then air-dried completely before storage. Two further rules cover almost everything else: use water-based lubricant only, and never submerge the device.
Silicone is easy to look after and easy to ruin. Miamaxx sleeves are body-safe silicone and the Miamaxx device body is splash-resistant rather than waterproof, which is why the cleaning method below treats the two differently. The rest is detail — but the detail is what makes a device last.
After every use
- Press the rubber tab firmly into the charge port.
- Rinse under warm — not hot — running water.
- Use a mild unscented soap or a dedicated toy cleaner. Pay attention to ridges and texture where residue collects.
- Rinse thoroughly. Soap residue is a skin irritant.
- Air dry completely before storing. Do not use a hair dryer.
Never rinse while charging, and never submerge. The Miamaxx is splash-resistant, not waterproof, and the charge port is the limiting factor. Water in the port can end the device permanently and voids the warranty.

Swapping sleeves
Hold the device body and give the sleeve a firm twist and pull. It is deliberately stiff — the mechanism was designed so a sleeve cannot release during use, which necessarily means it takes intent to remove one.
Clean and dry both the sleeve and the mount before fitting a different one.
Storage and charging
- Store dry, dust-free, and separately from other silicone items — silicones can react with each other over months.
- The supplied pouch exists for this. Use it.
- Charge every two to three months if the device is not in use. Lithium cells degrade if left flat.
- The remote charges separately and has its own cycle.
