Privacy Policy
How Miamaxx collects, uses and protects your personal information — and why we treat every customer record as sensitive by default.
This Privacy Policy explains how Dare Too Pty Ltd (ABN 60 156 354 399), trading as Miamaxx, collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. It applies to miamaxx.com.au and to any dealing you have with us by email.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Because of what we sell, we treat every customer record as sensitive by default — whether or not the law classifies it that way.

| Payment information | Card type, last four digits, transaction reference | Fraud prevention and refunds. Full card numbers never reach our servers — see below |
| Account information | Email address, password (stored hashed), order history | Only if you choose to create an account |
| Correspondence | The content of emails and form submissions you send us | To answer your enquiry and record what was agreed |
| Marketing preferences | Email address and subscription status | Only if you opt in |
| Technical information | IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site | Security, fraud prevention and understanding how the site is used |
We do not ask for, and do not want, information about your health, sexual orientation or sexual practices. Please do not include it in correspondence.
Payment information
Miamaxx never sees or stores your full card number. Card details are captured by our payment provider on their own PCI DSS compliant infrastructure. We receive only a transaction reference, the card type and the last four digits, which is what allows us to identify a payment for a refund.
What appears on your statement. Card and bank statements show a neutral trading name, not a product description. See the Shipping & discretion page for how orders are packaged and labelled.
How we use your information
- To process, pack and deliver your order, and to keep you updated on it.
- To provide customer support and to assess warranty claims.
- To take payment and to issue refunds.
- To detect and prevent fraud and misuse of the site.
- To meet our record-keeping obligations under Australian tax and consumer law.
- To send marketing email — only where you have opted in, and only until you unsubscribe.
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade or share customer lists. We do not build or share audience segments based on what you bought.
Who we share information with
We disclose personal information only to the service providers we need in order to run the business, and only the minimum each one requires.
| Recipient | What they receive |
|---|---|
| Payment provider | Payment and billing details, transaction amount |
| Delivery couriers | Name, delivery address, phone number and email for delivery notifications |
| Email platform | Your email address and subscription status, if you have opted in |
| Web hosting provider | Site data at rest, including order records held in the site database |
| Analytics provider | Pseudonymous usage data — see Cookies and analytics below |
| Professional advisers and regulators | Only where required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim |
Couriers are given a delivery address and a contact detail. They are not told what is inside the parcel; the parcel itself carries no product description and no Miamaxx branding.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them in three ways:
- Essential cookies keep your cart and your login session working. The site cannot function without them.
- Analytics cookies tell us which pages are used and where visitors leave. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you.
- Advertising cookies. This site does not run Meta, TikTok, Pinterest or Snapchat tracking pixels. Those platforms prohibit advertising in this category, so the pixels serve no purpose here and are not installed.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop checkout from working.
Storage, security and retention
- The site is served over HTTPS, so information sent between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit.
- Access to order records is limited to staff who need it to fulfil orders or answer support enquiries.
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be read by us.
- Order and tax records are kept for at least five years, as required by Australian tax law.
- Marketing records are kept until you unsubscribe, and then for a short period to make sure you are not re-added.
- Support correspondence is kept for as long as it may be relevant to a warranty claim, then deleted.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, most commonly in the United States and the European Union. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles personal information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Your rights
- Access — you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — you can ask us to correct anything inaccurate or out of date.
- Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information, except where we are legally required to keep it (order and tax records).
- Unsubscribe — every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
- Complain — you can complain to us, and escalate if you are not satisfied.
To exercise any of these, email support@miamaxx.com.au. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before releasing information, to protect you.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at support@miamaxx.com.au so we can investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business changes. The current version always appears on this page with the date it was last updated. Material changes affecting how we use existing customer information will be notified by email to subscribers.
